One week from today, Laura and I should be arriving in Porto, Portugal. We will stay the night at the Sheraton Porto Hotel & Spa. The trip will start the following morning.
I've spent the past several weeks breaking in my new pair of hiking boots. I took the first pair (Teva Arrowood Riva WP Hiking Shoe) back to REI because they were ruining my feet. Not sure what the problem was, but they were not for me. This new pair (KEEN Targhee EXP Mid WP Hiking Boots) is doing much better. I've averaged three to five miles per day at an average three mph.
Over the next couple of days, I will have to decide what to take on the trip. I invariably over-pack. I hope to keep the blog up to date using my iPad, i.e., not taking the laptop. I cannot seem to find a way to upload photos from my iPad to the blog however. Maybe I'll get one of the grandkids to show me how, otherwise, I'll take the laptop.
On Tuesday, May 1, Pip and I will start driving south toward Houston. We will stay the night in Marshall, TX and arrive at Laura's on Wednesday. We fly out of Houston on Friday afternoon (May 4), change plans in Newark and arrive in Porto on Saturday, May 5.
